F.A.Q
Why should I have my pet photographed?
Having professional photos taken of your pet is an investment that you will enjoy and treasure for years to come. If you are looking to have your pet photographed then you are probably like me in the way that my pets are part of the family. They are precious to us and provide unconditional love, companionship and happiness. Nobody knows our pets like we know them. Allow me to capture the essence of your pet through my creative photography and genuine love of animals.
If you are not 100% satisfied with my work, I will refund your money.
How long does a session last?
A typical session lasts about 1 hour. However, I do not limit myself to the amount of time I will spend working with your pet. I will not stop until I am sure that I have a range of candid, creative and beautiful images. If the session goes beyond 1 hour I do not charge an additional fee for the extra time.
How and when do I pay?
Payment is required when we meet for the shoot. You may pay by check or cash.
Should I do anything to prepare for the session?
Your pet should be nicely groomed and brushed to look their best. Bringing along favorite pet toys and treats. We like to recommend a nice long walk before the session for dogs who are hyper and over excited. It usually makes for a calmer dog during the shoot. Also, if you dress your pet, feel free to have any clothes or accessories with you. I will have some clothes and props with me as well. Also, please let me know if your pet does any special tricks and what makes them tick. Capturing these moments make for great fun images of your "baby."
What happens at the session?
Outdoor location: When we meet for the session, we will discuss your design vision for your pet's portrait. Then I will spend some time with your pet and allowing him to get used to me. Afterwards, the fun begins! I will bring wholesome treats, bottled water and plenty of toys to get your dog's attention. I take as many candid shots as I can, following your pet around and capturing photos of him doing whatever he loves best. I will do this until I am sure that I have plenty of great images for you to choose from.
In Your Home Location: Same as outdoor location plus I will bring a portable studio with me in case we decide to shoot some images in front of a background. Otherwise I capture photos of your pet in his favorite places around home (IE- his bed, the couch, near a window, backyard with natural light, etc..)
How will you handle my dog? How involved do I get in the shoot?
The low price on your pet photography session means I can't afford to bring an assistant with me to your shoot. I will work with your dog directly but your help may be necessary as well. That may mean standing next to me and making silly noises, squeeking toys or saying things that get your pet's attention.
What if I have to cancel?
I understand completely if something comes up and we must cancel the shoot, whether it be a family emergency or bad weather. We can always schedule it for another day.
However, if you cancel less than 48 hours before a shoot, I must charge a small fee to reschedule.
Can me or other family members be included in the portraits?
Sure, feel free to jump in for a few pics with your dog or cat or whatever kind of pet you have at no extra charge!
Can you tell me a little more about your Photography Sessions?
My goal in every session is simple, Creativity, Quality, Safety and Fun.
If you have a question that I have not answered, please email me and I will be happy to answer your question for you.
